A US$208M build against a US$155M market cap means this company cannot fund the mine from its own balance sheet, and the cheque has to come from somewhere else. The realistic sources are a gold-focused strategic or royalty and streaming house, a project finance syndicate, or a mid-tier producer looking at a joint venture or outright acquisition. Any of them will want protection, so existing holders should expect a mix of heavy equity issuance at a discount, a stream or royalty that takes a slice of future revenue, and possibly a partner who earns into the asset. The ratio of capex to market cap means that even a well-run financing probably transfers meaningful ownership, and with only 3 projects tracked for this company, there is little else in the portfolio to cushion the dilution.

The economics give the company a decent hand to play. A 56% after-tax IRR sits above 76% of the 123 gold projects we track, and it is far above the roughly 15% lenders look for, and the 20%+ typically demanded of a junior with a thin portfolio. That rank matters mainly as negotiating leverage: it widens the pool of financiers and improves terms. After-tax NPV of $741M is about 4.8x market cap, though that gap cuts both ways. It may reflect an unrecognised asset, or a market discounting financing risk, dilution and the preliminary nature of the study. Capex at 28% of NPV is lighter than 54% of the 185 projects we track, which helps, but it is a ratio against NPV, not against what the company can raise.

Caveats are real. This is a scoping-level PEA, possibly including inferred resources, with a capital estimate that can swing by plus or minus 50%, and a cost overrun would land on a company already stretched by the base case. The filing shows no change from the 2025 PEA, so no new de-risking has come through. Utah is a generally mining-friendly jurisdiction, which supports financeability. The study uses $3,000/oz gold against a live spot of $4,083.60/oz, so there is upside to the returns at current prices, and a financier will see that cushion. The deciding question is whether the company can secure a funding package that preserves most of the NPV for current shareholders, or whether the cost of capital hands most of it to the party writing the cheque.
