From our project database

The silver price mining studies assume

Every PEA, pre-feasibility and feasibility study values its mine at an assumed silver price. Across the 88 studies in our database that state one, the median assumption sat 20% below the silver price on the study date. When the price runs above a study's assumption, that study's NPV understates the project at today's price, and the reverse when it falls below.

Prices are daily closes of the COMEX silver futures, front month contract (SI=F) from Yahoo Finance. It is a continuous front-month series, so a roll to the next contract can step the line slightly. History starts Aug 30, 2000; the chart shows weekly closes for anything older than five years. Study assumptions are the base-case price decks extracted from technical reports in our project database: PEA, PFS and FS only, since resource-estimate decks use pit-shell prices and production reports use realized prices.
