A C$1.30B build against a company worth roughly US$20M is the fact that governs everything else here. The initial capital cost is about 48.5 times the entire market capitalisation, which means this cannot be funded quietly from the balance sheet, a small equity raise, or cash flow. Someone else has to write a very large cheque: a strategic partner or offtaker, a joint-venture carry, a royalty and streaming package, or a full project-level debt facility backed by a partner's covenant rather than the nano-cap's. Each route carries a cost to existing holders, whether through heavy dilution, giving away a large share of the asset, or both. The 14-project portfolio spreads the company's attention and its limited capital, but it does not change the arithmetic on a single C$1.30B build.

The economics underneath are genuinely strong on paper: a 48% after-tax IRR in the top quartile of the 396 projects we track, an after-tax NPV of C$4.10B ranking above 93% of 570 peers, and a 2.5-year payback. Against the practical hurdle for a higher-risk junior with little else producing, that clears comfortably. But these are PEA numbers, scoping-level, potentially drawing on inferred resources, with a capital estimate that typically carries a plus or minus 50% band. On a build of this size, that band is measured in hundreds of millions, and it can move the funding requirement more than any assumption in the model.

Ontario is a mining-friendly jurisdiction, which helps on permitting and on a lender's appetite, and the study's US$26,000/t lithium hydroxide assumption is the sensitivity that matters most: the returns live or die on where the lithium price settles over a 30-year life. The single question is whether a company of this size can convert a scoping study into a financed, permitted build without surrendering so much of the asset that the impressive NPV never reaches current shareholders.
