Transportation Security Administration agents’ hopes of getting paid soon were dashed Wednesday as initial support for the latest Department of Homeland Security funding deal fizzled out. Republican senators presented Democrats with their most promising deal yet on Tuesday to end the 38-day shutdown, which has left the security agents without pay. The deal would fund all of DHS, which oversees TSA, except for the migrant-removal activities of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, another DHS agency.
