Power Metallic Mines Inc (TSX-V:PNPN, FRA:IVV1, OTCQB:PNPNF) reported strong assay results from its fall 2025 drilling program and the first hole of its 2026 winter campaign, highlighting the high-grade potential of its Lion Zone copper discovery.
The company said infill drilling at the Lion Zone continues to demonstrate consistent high-grade copper, supporting plans for a 2026 Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE).
Hole PML-26-049, the first of the winter program, intersected 16.55 meters at 10.08% copper (15.11% copper equivalent), marking the strongest near-surface copper intersection to date.
The result could support early open-pit extraction in a potential future mining operation, Power Metallic told shareholders.
"Another very impressive set of results from the Lion Zone. The market certainly has not fully appreciated just how productive this discovery has become," said Power Metallic CEO Terry Lynch.
Additional drill results included hole PML-25-047, located 100 meters west of PML-26-049, which returned 4.16 meters at 4.15% copper (6.8% copper equivalent), reinforcing near-surface mineralization. Deeper drilling also confirmed high-grade extensions, with hole PML-26-043 returning 7.6 meters at 7.3% copper equivalent within 18 meters at 3.18% copper equivalent.
Exploratory drilling beyond the main Lion Zone showed potential for additional deposits. Holes drilled 500 meters west intersected ultramafic rocks and signs of Lion-style mineralization, while holes to the east revealed narrow zones of anomalous palladium and copper, suggesting the potential for a larger nickel-copper deposit.
Power Metallic continues to use borehole electromagnetic (BHEM) surveys to guide further exploration in both eastern and western target areas, aiming to expand the strike and dip extents of the Lion Zone and identify new Lion-style deposits.
