Port Hedland in northwest Australia resumed operations on Sunday as Tropical Cyclone Mitchell headed south, while the Ports of Dampier, Ashburton, Cape Preston West and Varanus Island resumed activities on Monday, operator Pilbara Ports said on its website. The ports handle the bulk of Australia’s iron ore exports, from major miners including BHP Group, Rio Tinto Group, and Fortescue Ltd., as well as liquefied natural gas cargoes from Woodside Energy Group Ltd. and Chevron Corp.
