C3 Metals Inc (TSX-V:CCCM, OTC:CUAUF) said it has intersected copper mineralization in all 12 drill holes completed to date at its wholly owned Khaleesi project in southern Peru, as the junior explorer ramps up drilling at the greenfield prospect.
The company has drilled 6,300 metres across a 1,000-by-500 metre footprint at the Khaleesi copper project, marking the first-ever drill campaign on the property.
Assays have now been received for six holes, with the remaining six pending. Among the latest results, hole KHZ5825-001 intersected 101.1 metres grading 0.3% copper, 0.05 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 0.84 g/t silver and 48 parts per million molybdenum, equivalent to 0.37% copper equivalent, starting at 23.4 metres downhole, and including 70.7 metres at 0.37% copper equivalent. The same hole also cut a separate 71.9-metre interval grading 0.29% copper at a depth of 357.2 metres.
KHZ5825-001 was drilled roughly 500 metres east of discovery hole KHZ5800-001, which previously returned 269 metres at 0.3% copper, including 60.4 metres at 0.41% copper.
Another hole, KHZ5950-001, intersected 243.7 metres grading 0.24% copper, 0.02 g/t gold, 0.87 g/t silver and 41 ppm molybdenum, or 0.29% copper equivalent, from about 200 metres vertical depth. That included 91.5 metres at 0.37% copper equivalent.
CEO Dan Symons said the consistent mineralization across all 12 holes underscores the scale of the hydrothermal system at Khaleesi.
“This a tremendous result for a greenfield project undergoing initial drill testing and demonstrates the large scale of the hydrothermal system,” Symons said, adding that early indications suggest potential for higher-grade mineralization in the western and southwestern parts of the project.
The company believes mineralization to the east and northeast may be more distal from the core of the system and said further drilling will help define the geometry and vector toward higher-grade zones.
C3 Metals plans to drill an additional 15,000 metres in 2026, bringing total drilling at Khaleesi to about 21,300 metres by year-end. The program, comprising 25 to 30 holes, will target the strike and depth extensions of garnet- and magnetite-hosted skarn mineralization, as well as the source of intense quartz veining encountered in earlier drilling.
A previous hole, KHZ5800-002, returned 51.1 metres grading 0.54% copper, 0.31 g/t gold and 3.21 g/t silver, including 18 metres at 1.08% copper and 0.76 g/t gold.
The company said geological modelling to date points to potential for a large-scale skarn system with alteration vectors suggesting a possible underlying porphyry source. It is updating its geological model as drilling advances to better target both skarn and potential porphyry mineralization.
