Aftermath Silver Ltd (TSX-V:AAG, OTCQX:AAGFF, FRA:FLM1) has appointed DRA Global Limited to lead the preliminary feasibility study (PFS) for its Berenguela silver-copper-manganese project in southern Peru, marking a step forward in the project’s development.
The Vancouver-based company said the selection of DRA followed a comprehensive evaluation process involving several international engineering firms. Criteria included technical capability, regional experience, metallurgical expertise, project delivery track record and alignment with Aftermath’s development strategy.
The PFS was first announced on February 12, 2026. Aftermath said advancing the study is an important milestone as the company moves Berenguela toward a potential construction decision.
Ralph Rushton, Aftermath Silver CEO, noted the ideal timing for advancing a silver and critical metals project of Berenguela's scale and quality.
“Demand for silver, copper and high-purity manganese continues to strengthen, driven by global electrification, renewable energy expansion and the broader energy transition,” Rushton said. “Securing the key technical partners like DRA at this stage is essential to ensure we are positioned to respond to that demand with a robust, disciplined and optimized development plan.”
DRA brings experience in Peru and internationally, with involvement in projects such as Quellaveco, Cerro Verde, Las Bambas and Antamina, according to the company. Aftermath said this expertise is expected to support efficient study execution, assist with permitting activities and help ensure alignment with Peruvian regulatory requirements.
As part of the work, DRA will be supported by SENET, a DRA Global Group company, which will provide hydrometallurgical expertise aimed at optimizing the project’s flowsheet. The company said SENET’s capabilities in process design are expected to help refine recoveries, improve efficiencies and enhance overall project performance.
“DRA's strong global execution experience, together with SENET's hydrometallurgical expertise, provides us with the technical capability required to maximize the value of our flowsheet and deliver a high-quality PFS,” Rushton added.
“We look forward to progressing Berenguela at a time of record precious metal prices and as the supply of copper and high purity manganese sulphate- both critical to EV car batteries- becomes increasingly strategic to the energy transition and high-growth industrial applications."
